I finally got a copy of "A Stitch in Time" by Andrew Robinson. It's a great
read, very interesting to see an actor who inhabited a role for seven years
and arguably knows Garak better than anyone - maybe even the writers.

Robinson fills in details of Garak's life and the history of Cardassia, and it
was nice seeing the relationship between Garak and Bashir again.
