I thought the kelvin line of films were decent but they were not a replacement
for what was out there. Just like you, I did not like the new ship at all, the
overall design and the horrible looking nacelles. 

All in all, it's a great attempt at trying to reboot the series but to me I
just found it to be an action film with star trek components but maybe that's 
just me.
