MK> Yeah sure. Happens everytime there is a new MS-Windows release. I haven't been following Kreb's reports religiously. But this last comment of his is a pre-cursor to MS's announcement to drop Win10 security updates. >> Mint will run on anything with a 64-bit CPU that has at least 2GB of >> memory, although 4GB is recommended. MK> Bah! Child's play. Check out ftp:// MK> mirror.csclub.uwaterloo.ca/slackware /slackware-3.3/ MK> INSTALL.TXT ... however I doubt it will boot on an x86_64. MK> Mind you I doubt Mint will boot on a 386. I think Kreb's point is to mention the linux alternative that would work best for Windows-users on most Win10-equipped machines out there now, not older 386s. If I wasn't tied to the neccessity of needing MS Access in my work, I'd be using linux 13 yrs ago on my modest PC equipment! -- ../|ug --- OpenXP 5.0.64 * Origin: (2:221/1.58) SEEN-BY: 103/705 105/81 106/201 124/5016 128/187 129/14 153/757 7715 SEEN-BY: 154/10 30 110 203/0 218/700 221/1 6 226/30 227/114 229/110 SEEN-BY: 229/206 300 317 400 426 428 470 664 700 705 240/1120 5832 SEEN-BY: 263/1 266/512 280/464 5003 291/111 292/8125 301/1 310/31 SEEN-BY: 320/219 322/757 341/66 234 342/200 396/45 423/81 460/58 467/888 SEEN-BY: 633/267 280 384 410 418 420 509 2744 712/848 770/1 902/26 SEEN-BY: 5020/400 5075/35 PATH: 221/1 280/464 633/280 229/426 |
