That seems odd to me given what little I know about that particular machine. 
Is this a hardware limitation or did that machine only come with 4G or is it
soldered onto the board?  If it is possible to bump it up to 8G that would
definetly make it more attractive.  As is, it sounds more like a "because I
can" project rather than a "something useful" project.
