No surprise there.  Anyhow I did manage to get a working freepascal going
which I then used to recompile the freepascal source with.  Seems to be
working except for compiling openxp which is the only reason I bothered at
all.  I may pick this up after the new glibc upgrade but I have serious doubts
about this.  Fortunetly I've had utf-8 working just fine with gcc and friends
so this really isn't needed ... perhaps not even desirable.

gcc is most definetly the way to go.
