XPost: tx.guns, tx.general, alt.guitar.amps       XPost: alt.politics.democrats       From: NoEmail@void.net              Rioter Who Helped Drag Officer Down U.S. Capitol Steps Tried to Flee to       Switzerland: Feds                                   A man who helped drag a police officer down the U.S. Capitol steps tried       to flee to Switzerland after the day of the siege and then, in what       authorities called a different type of flight effort, attempted suicide,       prosecutors told a judge on Friday.              Describing the case as “very disturbing,” a federal magistrate denied       bail to Jeffrey Patrick Sabol, a 51-year-old divorced geophysicist with       three children. Patrick has not been charged with assault but rather       under a civil disorder statute barring any effort to “obstruct, impede,       or interfere” law enforcement.              U.S. Magistrate Judge Andrew E. Krause called the allegations against       Sabol “deeply troubling,” ultimately denying him bail following an       hourlong hearing. Sabol’s defense counsel requested his home confinement       secured by hundreds of thousands of dollars, but the judge was       unpersuaded that the money or other set of conditions could hold him.                                                                             =======                     Humpty Trumpty tried to con us all,       Humpty Trumpty lost the election last fall.       All Powell's briefs and all Rudy's men       Couldn't make Trumpty President Again                            ....                                   A federal judge has denied the social media platform Parler's request to       force Amazon Web Services to put its site back online while a lawsuit       against the company is ongoing, Forbes reports. According to the court,       the platform favored by right-wing users has "fallen far short" of       proving the credibility of its legal claims.              "The Court explicitly rejects any suggestion" by Parler that Amazon is       obligated "to host the kind of abusive, violent content at issue in this       case, particularly in light of the recent riots at the U.S. Capitol,"       U.S. District Judge Barbara Jacobs Rothstein wrote in her ruling. "That       event was a tragic reminder that inflammatory rhetoric can—more swiftly       and easily than many of us would have hoped—turn a lawful protest into a       violent insurrection."                     .....                                          The daughter who publicly ID'd her own mother as a bloodied participant       in the Capitol riots feels some guilt for calling her mom out ... but       says she doesn't regret it, for several reasons.              Helena Duke joined "TMZ Live" Monday to add some context to why she       decided to out her mother, Therese Duke, in a viral clip where Therese       gets punched by a security guard outside the Capitol after the insurrection.              Helena says her mom lied to her about her whereabouts on January 6 --       claiming she was getting a medical procedure -- so she wouldn't have       known Therese attended the riots ... if not for the video of her getting       punched.              https://www.tmz.com/2021/01/18/helena-duke-no-regrets-outing-mom       at-capitol-trump-riots-punch-video/?fbclid=IwAR2IPaT-UTRD6iyLg3O       N7xcVsAc19BHSsorGr1wDKKWYvH-3BlaKw0qPj0              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
