Just because Issac Newton believed in some particular set of regligious
myths, as many people did in his time, doesn't actually make it
sensible or true. The reality is that Newton changed his religious
beliefs a few times - he was born an Anglican, became a Protestant
Christian, then basically made up his own ideas ("By his thirties
Newton held a Christian faith that, had it been made public, would not
have been considered orthodox by mainstream Christians."), and is now
considered by many "experts" to have been a Nontrinitarian Arian.

Many, many famous people throughout history have believed in various
different silly religions, but all of those mythical beliefs are still
just a load of utter bull-poo.

Go back in time and there were also lots of things people believed that
are now known to be idiotic - the Sun going around the Earth, the Earth
being flat, weird medical "cures", etc., etc.
