Notepad handles UTF-8 quit well but the last time I tried it as external editor for Golded it insisted on adding a BOM to the message text. That was many years ago so maybe newer versions of notepad do not do that anymore. Adding or using a BOM in UTF-8 text is considered obsolete practise.
