GE Ed,
yeah it really is evening even here.

EV> Thanks, I'll have a look at the BIOS to see if that is an option on
EV> Start Up.

Some even had several different beeps, depending on the error they want
you to know about.

HG> As long as the time on the clock is correct, and date is correct, when
HG> you start up, the culprit is not the battery.

EV> I was "thinking" even if that battery was dead I would see the Time
EV> and Date would have the correct settings when I turned the power On,
EV> because it would be updated before I saw the Desktop due to the pc
EV> getting its Clock set through the signal passed to it from the NTP
EV> Servers.

I don't know anything about NTP, but I do know that you can keep the
time updated via the net.

EV> For several days last week I couldn't use the pc because it wouldn't
EV> complete POST.

I'll just remind you that you're running Windows.

EV> Sunday night I unplugged everything connected to the pc and tried
EV> starting it up with only the Keyboard, PS/2 Mouse and Monitor
EV> connected to it, and it finished POST.

EV> I finally got Logged On and grabbed a .QWK Packet and my Email and
EV> shut it Off for the night.

Some thing seems to work.

EV> about why I've been absent since I wrote my messages on January 7th.

EV> Hopefully I'll find what cable was causing my problems when I start
EV> re-connecting all the wires, one at a time, to see if I can find the
EV> Trouble Maker.

73 es GN,

Holger
