Howdy! Ben, I formatted the Eide HDD You sent to me by placing it in a USB adapter I have and using the XP computer to do it. I put the HDD in the W95 notebook (that has a bad BIOS battery). I have tried various ways to get the notebook to start up but nothing has worked. Now I'm playing with the idea of seeing if I could install the Win95 CD that came with the notebook on to the HDD You sent me. First I'm going to try using a Ubuntu CD to use in Demo mode to see if I can get the Win95 CD on the HDD. If that fails, I'll try running Ubuntu in a VM to see if I can put the software on the two CD's that came with the notebook on the HDD. I am not sure of just trying to Install the CD's to the HDD with this XP computer, I'm afraid something may mess up the XP box and I'd have to use a Backup to Restore the computer. And Yes before I'd try doing the above I will make a new backup. I thought I'd write of the goings on with this project so You or someone else could give me an idea of how to get the HDD loaded with the notebooks CD software so I could put it in the notebook to see if the new HDD would boot it up. Thanks for the HDD and help. ...
