Sounds like you've got things well organized. I also use uSD cards but don't 
bother with Write Protect. Never had a problem (not)writing to cards. :)

With the older 8" Floppy disks (yup, still have some) one had to add/remove a 
stick-on tab over a notch to enable/disable Writing. 1st thing I did was order 
a set of replacement stickies!
