Just do it.  I recently upgraded my Dell Inspiron 560 (2010 model) to 8Gb and
it's still 'so nice'.  (OTOH, it needs a couple of HDD fixes.)  It ran Windows
7 out of the box, for 10 minutes till I saw the AV crappola.  Then I plonked
Ubuntu 10.04 LTS on it and never looked back.  Now has Xubuntu 18.04 LTS/64...
