similar to my Canon MX320.  You're lucky though, as the top cover on the Canon

I didn't see anything on-line either but I'm thinking: think back to when you
whipped the cover off... did you maybe do it at a low angle?  Maybe it fits
in/on at a slight angle or within a certain allowable range.  Do you remember
how you did it on the day?  Might help...?
