There is a mixture of Cisco hardware & windows in there.  It's also a lot of
networking theory & fundamentals.

Yeah, maybe the Cisco books wouldn't be the best then.  Maybe check out books
related to the CompTIA Network+ certification?  It's more vendor neutral,
still not specifically related to Windows 7, but networking is networking.
