You are aware that you can (since decades) create "internal" Areas and
drag/drop messages (use Ctrl Modifier for copy) ?

This new feature in particular enables the user to just delete a dead uplink
while keeping the messages. Before, WP essentially enforeced the deletion of
the linked areas.
