running binkd I have a list of several FQDNs for my system in the host line:

node 2:240/1120 ambrosia60.dd-dns.de;ambrosia60.goip.de;ambrosia
0.ddnss.org;ambrosia60.srvdns.de;fra.dv-kontakte.de;ambrosia60.spdns.e u
MYPASSWD

not all covered by the nodelist, but all I give in a points- or noderequest to
my new downlinks as bossnode
to allow fallback scenario configurations.
binkd tries in a poll the first FQDN. If the connection fails, binkd tries the
2nd configured FQDN and so on until all FQDNs are tested. Then restarts from
beginning ... until count of tries and probably a delaying hold time until
further tries.

I've used a couple of DynDNS providers in the past. Most providers did work ..
but also a long working DynDNS
provider did fail one day and until the service has been brought back online
it tooks 2 or 3 days.
so therefor I've no longer using only one DynDNS provider.
As said, in binkd config I can configure multiple FQDNs ... this I still
didn't found in WP how to configure multiple FQDNs ...

this may also cover the ipv4 vs. ipv6 discussion
but on the original question of the point it relates to Michaels system, as
the requestor had a point number under Michiels system so that he probably
talked about his bossnodes system ... thats Michiels system
